Flyers and VAT - Chargable or not?

Hi All!

Not a QF query, but a general query for those who may be able to help.

I’m looking at flyers for a client, except they would be printed with a site plan on them for a housing development, along with information about the development (house specs, plan overview etc).

The printers aren’t able to advise me, so my question is, do they classify as a VAT or non-VAT purchase?

I was always under the impression that if they need to be kept, then VAT is charged. But I’m a but unsure about this as the HMRC guidelines don’t mention anything like this!

Thanks in advance!

If the expense was incurred wholly and exclusively for business use and the supplier has provided a VAT purchase invoice, the VAT can be reclaimed.
