Fraudulent credit card payment stripe

I have a high value sale being paid by credit card on stripe. I just wanted to know what security checks happen between Quickfile and the Stripe interface.

Does stripe for instance check the card against the invoice address?

Any advice you can share? I don’t like credit cards as a general rule. !

Is this a QF invoice being settled through Stripe or an online sale that you are tagging in the Stripe Holding Account?

You will need to log in to your Stripe account if you want to check the cardholder’s address.

If you have doubts about a customer then I would suggest disabling Stripe in their account before invoicing.

They can do, but I’m not sure whether the option is on or off by default in QuickFile.

Mailing to a different address is perfectly normal. Plenty of people that I have worked with had parcels delivered to the office (until reception objected anyway) and I have had several presents mailed direct to the recipient. I am sure that my parents had furniture and white goods delivered direct to their holiday cottage.

I can’t say that I have ever seen an option in QF to verify the invoice address to the cardholder’s registered address.

Ah yeah, I misread the question - Stripe can ask for a billing address and check that against the card, but it doesn’t have to be the same as the invoice address.

Hi @mulready

Any details supplied by the user are passed to Stripe. This would include:

  • Card number
  • Card expiry
  • CVC (3 digits on the back)
  • Address

Whether these are checked or not depends on the settings in your Stripe account.

If you go to Payments >> Reviews >> Manage rules within your Stripe account (not QuickFile), you can view the rules in place that are run each time when a payment is made. For example, in this screenshot you can see post code verification is disabled:

But these are run on Stripe’s side. QuickFile has no control over these.
