GBP Invoice to be paid from Paypal USD

Hi QF Team,

I have several purchase invoices in GBP and the payment is from Paypal USD balance in USD. I set the paypal USD as a separate bank account. When I try to record a payment for the invoices, the Paypal USD account is not in the option list. I tried making a pre-payment to the supplier in USD to close GBP invoice with that balance, however pre-paid balance is not even shown as an option to record payments.

Hi @alid

It’s not currently possible to mark a GBP invoice as paid using a different currency. You would need to have some sort of conversion in between.

If you don’t already have one, you could create a GBP “holding account” (or even a PayPal GBP account), and tag the USD payment as a transfer to this, and then pay the invoice from the same bank account. The money in and money out transactions would cancel each other out.
