I would like to generate one report that shows information on a monthly basis eg run a sals report and it breaks down the sales into Jan, Feb , March etc on a single report and do the same for the profit and loss report. How do I generate or create such a report? I need it to compare monthly performance without having to run 12 separate reports. Many thanks

You can run the Reports > Show all Reports > Segmented Profit and Loss Report
This report will show you profit and loss broken down by month.
As with any profit and loss report sales are shown so it will also break down your monthly sales
