I’m trying to configure Gmail SMTP on my QuickFile account.
I’m using smtp.gmail.com, port 587, STARTTLS enabled, my full Gmail address as the username, Google 2-Step Verification and a newly generated App Password.
QuickFile returns “5.7.0 Authentication Required”.
On one attempt, using a private browser window, it progressed to the activation-code screen, but the activation email was never received. I have also tried sending the activation email to a different email address.
The only emails I receive from QuickFile are the “new location/account login” security notifications — no SMTP activation-code email arrives.
I’ve tried fresh Google App Passwords and have ruled out browser password autofill.
Could someone please check the SMTP connection/logs or advise what else I need to change?
