How can I save my records

How can I download all my profit and loss accounts, VAT returns, Tax returns, purchase receipts, clients / vendors and suppliers etc. Or how can I migrate everything to another supplier?

Hi @sammymac

We offer a back up which would give you a zip file of all your entries in CSV format which is widely recognised and supported.

The reports are generated from these figures.

There’s more details on how to run one of these, here: Create a data backup schedule

You can also download an archive of files on your account: Download an archive of your documents

Thankyou. I did obtain a CSV format report however it is not accepted by other software because there are no headline / topics.

I have also looked at the link you sent to create a data backup schedule however it does not appear to have any link or instruction to actually do this. It just explains what it is. Can you please advise where I can do this?

I noticed that to obtain an archive it requires a power subscription. Is this a paid subscription? I cannot pay just to leave the site.

HMRC said it was a legal requirement to keep my records digitally with you. Now you want to charge me!!!

I realise that the only way is to do it manually so how can I just download everything?

Hi @sammymac

Can you clarify what you mean by this, please? The CSV files do have a header row identifying each column. The format may not be exactly the same as any other platforms, but their support teams should be able to assist you with this.

Let me drop you a quick message to get some account details and we’ll get the file backup sorted for you. Please look for the green notification in the top right corner.

I followed instructions on another software which was to obtain the chart of accounts. I also tried another method they advised which was to obtain the trial balance.

Basically I just want to either migrate everything as it is to another platform or to download all my records in a cohesive format (not csv) so that I can work with manually.

I only used this site because hmrc said it was a legal requirement but now you are blackmailing me to stay with a monthly fee and no easy way to obtain my accounting records without paying you. Since it is a legal requirement that I keep these records it seems that QuickFile are essentially blackmailing me to stay.

Please can you advise the following:

  1. your complaints department
  2. Your company contact details so that I can complain to HMRC
  3. Your company details for legal communication.
    Thankyou

Hi @sammymac

CSV is a universal format, essentially a spreadsheet but in basic form. Reports such as trial balance, profit and loss and others can all be downloaded in CSV format too. There’s an option for these on each of the reports.

Please rest assured that there is no blackmail here. Please check the message I’ve sent you privately to obtain account details so we can sort the download for you. We never have, nor ever will, prevent users from obtaining copies of their data. If you can reply to me with the account details, we’ll get that sorted for you.
