How do I file VAT return on MTD?

With some difficulty I have finally managed to establish a link with HMRC.

I have created a VAT report for the last quarter but I don’t see how I submit it.

It just shows this:

Status: SAVED This VAT Return has not been submitted to HMRC

How do I submit it?

Peter

I have managed to do it at last. I rolled it back and recreated it and it then worked with a button to file it

Peter

Glad you managed to sort this @drpeej!

If you need any further help, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Hi, can I submit a late return?

Hello @Roosters

Hello Paul

I can see you have filed your return (1 May 2022 - 31 Jul 2022) using our bridging module.

If you go in to try an do another return you will see the below message

Power User Subscription Required
Your first VAT return can be filed for free. You will need to purchase a Power User Subscription for continued use of the VAT Filing feature.

QuickFile is free up to the first 1000 nominal postings in a rolling 12 month period then £45 (£60 from 01/11/2022) per year after that.
This includes MTD submissions and is simple to use.

More information on pricing can be found in the link below.
QuickFile Pricing.

We do offer a Bridging module if you are not using QuickFile to store your accounts which would allow you to do MTD submissions.

Please note: VAT Bridging is accessible at no extra cost for those with an active Power User Subscription (£45(£60 from 01/11/2022) + vat per year) or Affinity managed account. On the free tier you will be able to file your first Bridging VAT Return at no cost, after which you will need to obtain an Affinity or Power User Subscription.

Hi Matthew - isn’t there a simpler way to do this? If the return is already Saved, isn’t there a mechanism for submitting the Saved Return, without recreating it? Thanks, Quentin

Hello @Quentin

All the transactions are currently flagged as reconciled in the saved return.

You will need to roll it back and recreate recalculate the return.

Ok. Thanks for letting me know. If there’s any way that Quickfile can create a simpler route for the future, with a Submit button on the Saved return, that would certainly be helpful. (Or even instructions that the roll back/recreate route is the correct one.) Thanks, Quentin
