How to re activate? Your SMTP settings are deactivated as there were three consecutive errors . Please correct the settings again and reactivate

I changed my email password for security, not i got this email from quick file.

I found the SMTP settings and changed the password.
Above where you save the pasword, after entering the new, it still says

Your SMTP settings are deactivated as there were three consecutive errors . Please correct the settings again and reactivate.

So how do i re activate it? I cant figure out how to.

I would suggest it says instead:
Your SMTP settings are deactivated as there were three consecutive errors . Please correct the settings again and reactivate by clicking here (with a link to re activate it).

Thanks

Hello @adnw

You just re enter the smtp settings and send an activation code again, if you are not receiving the code it would suggest something entered is incorrect.

Done it.
I also had to change the app password in google.

Your link has outdated info on how to add an app password. The images now look different than you have on this page.

https://support.quickfile.co.uk/t/using-a-2-step-verification-google-account-with-quickfile/31244

This is the correct procedure

Create & use app passwords
Go to your Google Account.
Select Security.
Under “Signing in to Google,” select 2-Step Verification.
At the bottom of the page, select App passwords.
Enter a name that helps you remember where you’ll use the app password.
Select Generate.

Great glad you got it sorted :+1:

Thank you for the updated process, I will get the article updated
