How to split VAT across year end

Is there a way to get QuickFile to generate a VAT return set of figures that don’t align with the VAT return period?

My VAT quarter runs 1st Feb to 30th Apr and my year end is end March. I’d like to give my accountant the VAT figures just for 1st Feb to 31st March so that he can split it between last year and this.

(I can’t remember how I worked it out before but I think I did it manually as the accounts in previous years were much simpler over that period.).

Thanks

Just export vat workings for return after year-end and take info required for the accountant to tally control account. QF will generate figures automatically anyway for the year-end balance sheet

@FaradayKeynes - having submitted the VAT return for the last quarter, how do I export the vat workings for return after year-end? I want to see the figures just for April but not May. (I haven’t closed the accounts for last year yet).

View the vat return and click on export button on top

@FaradayKeynes That only shows data since the last submitted return - that starts 1 May.

What I want do is split thte last submitted VAT return over the FY year end. (Just the amount due to HMRC).

I.e. I want to split the VAT amount due of previous submitted VAT return into sections A and B in the diagram below.

You dont need to do this, QF system will pick relevant entries automatically for your closing balance sheet. Above approach is to have working papers as backup of figures on balance sheet. Your accountants should handle it if you provide them csv downloaded

@FaradayKeynes OK, thank you!
