How to upload an invoice and a receipt to my VAT return

I own a small woodland with very little sales/purchases activity. Is there an easy way to upload or associate a single invoice or receipt with my quarterly VAT return…I’m trying to avoid the complication of ‘bridging portals’ or ‘excel accounting sheets’…possibly naively?

Hi,
The easiest and cheapest way for you would be to use quickfile as your bookkeeping/accounting software and not just the bridging tool. quickfile is free for up to 1000 ledger entries which are about 250 invoices per year.
You can just create your invoice(s), send them to your customer or just mark them as send if you use a different way of sending your invoices. Upload your original invoice and attach it to the invoice created in quickfile. All the necessary data from your invoice(s) will be transferred automatically to your vat return. When the time comes to submit your return, just check that everything looks ok and send it to hmrc. Same procedure for purchases.
