Hi, I had the HSBC bank feed plug in set up but the setting panel/tool bar that usually appears at the top seems to have gone! How can I get this back?
Have HSBC updated their website by any chance? Have they changed their URL? This would likely cause the bank feed plugin to stop working. We have a HSBC test account and I can also see that the panel is no longer showing. I don’t go into HSBC enough to notice if the website has changed, I will ask my colleagues to see if they noticed anything.
Visually it appears to be the same. When you select HSBC through the plug-in it forwards you to https://www.business.hsbc.co.uk/1/2/bib/username. In the extension settings this link is listed as business.hsbc.co.uk so I am not sure if this would make any difference.
The site has been updated albeit very subtly, but that’s enough to break the extension. I’ve passed this over to our developers, unfortunately this will need to be reviewed, fixed and reissued through the Chrome Store. This could take a few days.
An update has been made to the extension and it has been pushed out to the Chrome Store. The plugin should automatically update within the next 24 hours. The simple way to test this is to go to the HSBC login area, once updated the setting panel should be visible.
Hi Glen, the panel appears now after the upgrade but the process of exporting statement does not seem to work as before. It goes through the login process, then to the statements page and stops. The export to Quickfile button does not appear until the statements page is refreshed.
There were a number of changes that were made to HSBC within the last couple of days that seem to have broken the bank feed plugin in numerous places. We’ve looked further into this and the automated import routine (i.e. the one that logs you in and downloads the recent transactions) can no longer be supported.
You can however still use the “log in” automation and we’ve fixed the recent transaction screen so the export button should be visible again. Those updates should take about 12 hours to take affect.
