I want Advice on Integrating Power BI with QuickFile

Hey All,

I have been trying to figure out the best way to connect Power BI with QuickFile & I thought this community might be the right place to ask I know QuickFile has some API options & I am guessing they can be used to pull data directly into Power BI but I am not very confident about how to set it up smoothly

My main goal is to generate clear reports that combine accounting data with some additional business metrics. I am confused switching between tools & exporting spreadsheets manually which is becoming quite a hassle. I was reading some material while going through a Power BI Course & that made me realize I might be missing a few tricks to simplify the workflow

Has anyone here successfully linked QuickFile data with Power BI If yes do you suggest a direct connection using the API or would it be better to rely on Excel as a bridge I would really appreciate some beginner friendly guidance

Apologies for the late reply. It’s not something I have personal experience with so I can’t advise on the best way to create this link.

Posting here is absolutely the right thing to do, and I’m sure if someone in the community has successful linked the two platforms, they will reply with some ideas to help move forward with.

API would be the better option but there could be some limitations and also licencing required on the PowerBi side. Excel will work, but more manual work.

I guess it depends how frequently the data needs updating. I have an excel file that I update once a month with a single click that runs a macro to retrieve all the various data I need via the api. It would be possible to connect power bi to read the spreadsheet.
