Hello I am trying to import TB in QF for landlords. I wish to import the period 6 April 2025 to 30 November 2025. I have the TB in excel format and have converted to a CSV file. I have included a column for the QF nominal code and populated and have separate columns for the debits and credits. QF is telling me that my TB doesn’t balance. I am an accountant by training and my TB does balance (ie the column of the credit entries equals the column of the debit entries). Any ideas?
I have already put in the bank balance before importing the TB and thought that this may be the problem but the bank balance amount is different to the amount QF seems to think my TB doesn’t balance by. Any help gratefully appreciated.
The most common cause for this it if there is a total line on the csv, e.g. a total showing in the debits/credits columns. If there is remove that row and re try the import.
I had already removed the totals and it still didnt work. In case this helps others. I changed browser to chrome, I removed all headings and then copied the content into a new spreadsheet but pasted values only (ie no formulae). It now seems to work. However I do not know which of the steps above was key. Regards
