Inventory Item reporting

Hi. I appreciate there have been questions on this in the past but i don’t seem to be able to complete what I need to do.

I would just like to view sales by inventory item for the past 12 months trended.

So far, I have split each of the inventory items out into a separate nominal code. (I just had 4000, now i have 4001, 4002 etc)
When i raise an invoice now, this splits out sales as I require.
The challenge I’m having is to do this for invoices that had been raised prior to me making this change to nominal codes, they still appear as the original nominal they were posted to (4000)…any ideas?

If you’ve used inventory items set up through the inventory management (Sales >> Sales Inventory), you can run a search to show how many have been used in a time period. While this doesn’t give you the monetary value, if your pricing hasn’t changed you should be able to do some quick calculations.

In fact, you could run the search, select all items and then export the data and use spreadsheet software such as Excel to do the calculations for you.

Sadly that won’t help as our pricing isn’t set it’s custom depending on the job. Not to worry, I have nominal codes set up now so this won’t be an issue going forward.
