Are you using your own email server, or QuickFile’s?

I think we almost need a separate category for email related queries.

Whenever a service like QuickFile or any other third party is sending mail on your behalf there’s always the possibility of email getting marked as spam. At the risk of getting too technical it’s due to the reverse DNS lookup failing, That means our server at address 80.175.65.138 has sent an email with the from address set as xyzcompany.com. A DNS lookup for xyzcompany.com resolves to 1.2.3.4 not 80.175.65.138 so the receiver may suspect this is spam.

SPF records are designed to solve this problem by allowing you to set up a record on your DNS server to say that this IP address is permitted to send mail for xyzcompany.com domain.

We cover SPF records and custom SMTP email settings here. Setting up your own SMTP server on QuickFile is very straightforward and will improve email reliability.
