Invoices outstanding in one year paid by new company following year

Hi I had a lot of outstanding invoices for a company in 2023-2024 the company ceased trading but one of the directors started a new business and paid all the old invoices from the new company.

I have this one lump sum that covers all the old invoices just from another company name, what is this the best way to account for this.

Do I delete the invoice I raised to the new company so that they could pay the lump sum and then pay off the old invoices, or delete the old invoices and log the payment as a lump sum.

Or is there another solution?

Hello @Biobob

Is this in the old companies accounts or the new companies accounts?

If its the new company accounts why is the director making payments out of the new company bank account for nothing related to the business?
