JavaScript in emails is considered a dangerous element and penalises deliverability. Is there any way its use could be avoided?
JavaScript isn’t used in the emails that are sent to users unless you modify the templates to include it.
Are you seeing this for any particular emails?
In a notification of a new invoice email, I am seeing:
Not something I have created, SFAIK. I have only modified the email at the text level.
Thought that might happen! The JS was stripped out. You should be able to see it at [link removed]
Thanks for sharing that snippet with us.
This isn’t JavaScript but rather a “Rich Data Snippet”. It’s used by email clients such as Google Mail to show key information from emails to the user and shouldn’t cause any issues.
Here’s an article from Google with more detail on how it’s used: खास जानकारी | Gmail | Google for Developers
OK, thanks for clarifying. It was flagged by mail-tester.com, but presumably mistakenly.
If its the same thing I’ve seen this used on numerous emails from amazon ebay and other sites its used by lots of companies. So I wouldn’t say it’s something to be worried about.
