Earlier this year I raised a query about integrating the Sumup Card Payment system with our existing QF accounting.
In the interim, I have been supplied with the necessary technical information to connect to the SumUp service. At the time, I activated the link but did not turn on the automatic feed.
Today, I have turned on the automatic feed and am informed that that will happen for the first time tonight (16/09/24). In addition to the autofeed button there are two others with minimal associated help assuming that the user will know and understand what will happen when the transactions are uploaded. The help implies some independence in function but what is the full behavior associated with these settings and their interaction?
I not also that on the knowledge base that the 7 pages of that was provided earlier are not accessible from a link in the list of providers. Blue implies a link is available but the Sumup reference is bold black. Is this provider supported or not.
Regards,
Nigel
Hi @NDG1944
Yes, SumUp is now generally available to all users with a Power User Subscription.
Regarding the options available for the feed, there are 3 options in total -
-
Enable automated feed
This is the part that you are interested in, which will import transactions for you, daily.
-
Ignore payout transactions
This is similar to other feeds we operate for payment providers. In some cases, having the “payout” transaction imported can lead cause some issues, especially when operating with a bank feed. It’s entirely optional if you enable this or not, it depends on how you work. If it’s enabled, when SumUp payout to your bank account, we’ll import an entry here. If you’d prefer us not to do this, lead it unticked.
-
Ignore SumUp fees
Similar to above, it depends on how you work. With this enabled, we’ll automatically add in an entry for the transactions to account for them. Some users, however, would prefer to account for them on a monthly or weekly basis, rather than an individual transaction basis.
The only reason SumUp is black rather than blue in the knowledge base guide, is because there’s no dedicated page for it yet on our main website. This will likely be added in due course.
I hope this helps!
Hi,
Firstly I enabled the autofeed and left the two ‘ignore’ options unticked.
However, no transactions came down overnight (in fact two of our HSBC regular feeds only arrived mid-afternoon).
The transactions relate to a financial year ending 31st Jul 2024 so is it muddled by the dates somehow. Of course both sides of the transaction have been completed both sales and payouts.
Happy to go into ‘private’ mode to supply more details.
Regards, NIgel
Hi @NDG1944
I’ve sent you a private message so we can investigate this for you.
