I've just discovered QuickFile - How do I input last year's accounts information?

I’ve just set up an account on QuickFile after discovering it whilst searching for useful information online. I need to set up last year’s accounts - I’m a micro business - how do I create historic accounts (if that’s possible on the system)?

Hello @acowenwright

Is it a new company, have you go accounts with another provider/ in excel?

A good place to start is the knowledgebase

Hi Steve,
It’s two-and-a-half years old.
Year one it was dormant.
Year two I began contracting for a company on a part-time basis. The year runs October 1 to September 30. My accounts are due at the end of this month and I had been looking for some neat templates online to tidy up my word document records, then I found QuickFile and thought it might be useful to input all the 2022/23 financial information in to aid with my accounts submission.
Is this possible to retrofit last year’s accounts into the system or would I be better off with online templates?
I have not used accounting software previously. Just kept manual records in Word.

Hello @acowenwright

As the support team are not registered accountants I can not advise which method would be best for you. You would be best speaking to your accountant for professional tailored advice.

If you don’t have an accountant, we have a panel of accountants (familiar with QuickFile) to choose from, for more information, please see the following link:

You can enter opening balances (import trial balance or manual journal) at a set point of your choosing, from there you can then enter to invoices and payment transactions.

These could be done

Manually - entering the invoices and bank transactions

Imported from Excel(or similar)

If you have receipts you can upload these and tag them

This might help How to switch accounting software?

HI @acowenwright,
Quickfile is an excellent bookkeeping software and will produce a Profit & Loss A/c and Balance Sheet, which you can printout and refer to. These formats cannot be sent to Companies House, they will expect a word or PDF document in the Statutory layouts, which can they uploaded - File your company's annual accounts with Companies House - GOV.UK
