Linking to Banks Support

Hello all,

This is the first time I’ve been using an accounting software, so forgive me for any stupid questions, but I was wondering if I have to do anything specific when linking up my business back account with Quickfile? For example, calling and informing them that I’ve done so or following some specific protocol?

Thanks
James

Hi,
You don’t need to inform your bank. If you do online banking with your bank and your bank supports open banking, you can just connect it with quickfile, or quickfile with your bank.
Here is a link with the banks currently supported:
https://www.quickfile.co.uk/openbanking/providers

Here are links which should get you started and some info:

https://support.quickfile.co.uk/t/what-is-open-banking/20542

https://support.quickfile.co.uk/t/managing-open-banking-feeds/24052

It is maybe good to know, you don’t need to buy and pay the bank feed straight away, as far as I know quickfile lets you test it for 2 weeks or so.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply and information, this is helpful.

So, I have to manually create a banking feed in order to ensure Quickfile and my Barclays account talk to one another? Will it show on the app too whenever I receive/send monies out to and from Quickfile?

Do you think it would be a good idea to call my bank just to double check and confirm?

Thanks
James

Hi,
Yes, you have to create a banking feed within quickfile. But first create the Barclays Bank account in quickfile. If done, open that account by clicking on VIEW at the end of the bank account line. Click on MORE OPTION and Create Bank Feed. It is not very difficult to setup.
Of course, you can phone your bank first, but it is not necessary if you are already registered for online banking.
Everything you see in your app, you will see in quickfile too. You can only see all your transaction, you can not make payments or other things in quickfile.
