Im just starting out and logging a new purchase - pension, can someone tell me what header it goes under please.

A journal is a way to manually move balances between different nominal codes. In the case of a pension, it would be entered as part of your payroll journals.

We have an example of a payroll journal here: Recording payroll. This includes the pension payment too.

What payroll software do you use? We link up with the Payroll Site for example, which can automatically create the journal for you.
