I have just accessed my account to update my accounts and seem to have lost the last 3 yrs data? How can this be possible?

When you say lost, how do you mean exactly?
Have you logged in as a client or restricted user by accident?
I’ve located an account which I think is possibly yours but there’s no activity on the event log since September 2014. Also there’s only one item on the deleted invoice list.
