I understand that QuickFile is developing a MTD rental properties software system. Can you tell me when that is expected to be ready as I would like to begin using it well before the required start date and would prefer not to have to use another system.

Currently QuickFile only supports MTD for vat but we will be fully compliant for Making Tax Digital for self-assessment when it is fully released by HMRC in April 2026

I am not clear whether you are saying that the software will only be available in April 2026. I wanted to make sure the rental income process worked well before it is required.

I am a sole trader but have rental income shared with 3 others. Will Quickfile’s system be able to cope with separating both elements and allow 4 different MTD submissions for the rental income yet keep the sole trader business separate and confidential?

We’re aiming to support as much of the MTD functionality as possible, as and when the details are released by HMRC.
Unfortunately MTD has been quite fluid over the last few years so we can’t guarantee anything at this stage, but as and when things are finalised, we’ll update everyone on our forum
