MTD for ITSA replacement of domestic items

I cant seem to find the nominal code for “replacement of domestic items” and there doesn’t seem to be line item for this in the MTD quarterly updates. How do I deal with this so that it will reach the correct box on the self assessment return at the end of the year. HMRC require it to be shown in box 38 on UKP2 rather than being included in repairs and renewals. I have created my own code in the chart of accounts to keep this item separate but can seem to find where I should map it to in the quarterly submissions so that it reaches the correct place own the year end return.

Hello @CGSL

When mapping nominal codes, HMRC provides a list of categories to map your codes to in the nominal mapping screen.

If you are unsure which category to map to, I would see advice from either your accountant or HMRC as this is not help we can offer as the support team are not registered accountants.

Thanks Steve. I am an accountant by trade. I will ask the question another way, which may help. In the year end tax return on the property pages UKP2 there is a box 36 which is called “costs of replacing domestic items - for residential property lettings only.” Which code in the standard chart of accounts will map to this box in the final year end tax return? Or are you saying that HMRC have confirmed that this box (which is on the 2025-26 tax return) will not appear on the 2026-27 tax return?

Many thanks
