I received an email from Quickfile asking me to reauthorise my link for submitting VAT returns to HMRC via Quickfile (it has been 18 months since the link was established). I followed the link in the email to HMRC but could not find any reference to this online with HMRC. I contacted HMRC for support, they suggested deauthorising the link and re-establishing it. I have now deauthorised the link but cannot find away to establish it again, can anyone help?
Hi @TBCMark
All HMRC access can be found by going to Reports >> HMRC. From here you can disconnect, reconnect and add new connections as needed.
Thank you. I have tried this but it directs you to HMRC to authorise the link. When you sign in to HMRC it asks for you authorise it via the application (I think this means Quickfile), just going around in circles.
All the links have to be authorised on HMRC for security. They will redirect you back to QuickFile once it’s completed.
You should see a green “Grant authority” button (or similar) on the HMRC page.
Just to confirm, you’re going to Reports >> HMRC within your QuickFile account, and then clicking Connect and following the process, but it’s taking you to the page in your screenshot?
Thank you, sorted it out. The gentleman I spoke to this morning at HMRC said they have had a number of calls regarding this recently but they do not have an idea why it is happening or how to resolve the issue of re-authorising links after 18months have passed. There seems to be little information on the internet either and the link in the email from Quickfile does not help.
Glad to hear you sorted this @TBCMark.
We’re always open to feedback, so any suggestions you have regarding our email, please feel free to send them our way! We do have to be careful with the wording and even the links in the email however, as some people have confused it for a phishing email which lead to further problems. But always happy to hear suggestions.
