Hi @jhanks1170
Sorry to hear you’re having some issues here. Can I just clarify the exact error message you’re seeing please?
And also just to confirm, you’ve set up the agent account through your Affinity account, which is authorised to access your clients account with HMRC?
You are not yet authorised to view this report for the VRN 285943946 . Please ensure your VAT number is correct and you have connected the corresponding HMRC Tax Account. If you have recently enrolled on the MTD scheme please allow 24 hours for HMRC systems to update.
this is the message which comes up on the screen when i go into the vat return.i am all logged into the affinity account with my agent details.
Im not 100% sure, but you may need to disconnect Xero from the MTD link first, before you can activate the link in Quickfile.
In theory, having a link already in place shouldn’t cause any issues. But it’s certainly worth trying.
Generally the issue means there’s an authorisation error somewhere, or the VAT number is incorrect.
vat number is correct so not sure .Would i have to disconnect quickfile from Mtd then reconnect? or do i do anything to Xero software?
I would try disconnecting Xero. But there’s no harm in disconnecting and re-connecting it on QuickFile too.
sorry next question im not up to date with xero how there software works so i cant find how to disconnect with xero my agent code
Unfortunately that’s not something I’d be able to help with. It may be worth reaching out to Xero directly to see if they can assist with that
ok thanks i shall try and contacting them.
