Multiple Screens

Feature requested
I use multiple Screens on my PC - I have x3 at present and would never go back to a single screen PC. I use firefox as my browser and it is possible to duplicate a tab (which has Quickfile open), move it to a new window, then move the window before resizing it. Bit of a faff really. But havving faffed; I can work in two different Quickfile windows.

I have also tried the “make a link” feature which is really good, but it creates a shortcut that makes the current view swap to the new view, when comparing data (or trying to fix an error) I can’t view both at once. How difficult would it be to make the link launch the new QF screen in a new FF tab? (or when creating the shortcut to include an option for “launch in a New Tab” ; “launch in a New Window”)

** Proposal **
Two Aspects. #1 Please can you confirm that if this is all done manually, then data corruption will not occur if the same logon ID is active in two windows at once.

Aspect #2. At its simplest, if it was based on manipulating tabs in browser windows then we’d be almost there.

** Suggested Implementation **
I think that you could implement this as a FireFox plugin. It would end up with a button in FF along the top row. When clicked it would open two more FF Windows, each window would have, say, 3 Tabs. (I use side tabs) The plugin would need launch the FF windows in suitabe positions and sizes (I maximise mine - so by default a maximised window) one on each Computer screen. Ideally, once in QF you have a way to ‘back-fill’ to the FF Plugin which screens you want to open evrery time you ran the FF plugin. And if you to do this, you could include as part of the button’s logic a QuickFile account chooser option for those with say two or three QF accounts.

Finally … you will probably get lots of new customers; I found it extraordinarily difficult to find QF via google, but it it came up for anyone searching for a FireFox accounts plugin …

I may have misunderstood, but can’t you just open a new browser window and go to your QF page?

You can also middle mouse-click (the wheel) on any link and it’ll open a new tab.
