New bank account but no balance showing

I have a new bank account (Virgin) which has £1.00 in it which I transferred from my Nationwide current account. The transfer shows after refreshing the NW feed.

Virgin also has a feed set up. When I tag the transaction as a transfer nothing shows up in Virgin, I have no transactions. I thought maybe I should have added an opening balance, so I did. Now when I look on my bank account list Virgin has a £2 balance. I can’t edit the opening balance and in any case the Virgin a/c has no transactions.

I thought a clever idea would be to delete Virgin and start over but I can’t do that either.

How do I get out of this mess!?

OK, worked out how to delete the initial balance and now all is well.

I tagged the transaction in you nationwide feed as a transfer to the virgin account and it shows up as expected

OK, thanks but why doesn’t it show before in the VM feed? I’ve made another transfer and refreshed both the NW and VM. The money shows as having left NW but not arriving in VM. Looking directly at my VM account at Virgin show the money has arrived.

I get that I could tag the NW and it will show in VM, but shouldn’t it appear in the VM feed independently?

We only import the transactions which the bank has marked as fully booked/cleared.

This usually happens overnight but can take longer depending on the bank and transaction

The raw data from the bank still shows it as Pending

With that in mind I would reccomend detagging the transaction which I tagged for you.

That way when it shows on the Virgin feed you can match the two transfers and avoid duplication
