New nominal code

I got this helpful answer to my last question

“the simplest way to tackle it would be to make a new nominal code in the sales section”

I’ve had a look around and can’t find out how to do this. I’m currently using the free version if that makes a difference, but can upgrade if need be.

Help on where to find this would be much appreciated

Ah so in there it has codes! Are codes and accounts the same things?

In bookkeeping terms each “Book/Ledger” has its own account/Nominal code

Ok so how do I actually create an account/code for my mileage expenses? When I go into ‘create new account’ it has very limited options under expenses.

You can add codes by entering the specific code number as shown below

Just be sure to select a code within the range you are interested in (e.g. overheads 7000-9999)
