Hi,

Note - I did reply to the email regarding the new API (as the email indicated), but it was a noreply email address so sending on here also as I’m not sure that will have been read..

Very good to see improvements here – I would have quite a bit to refactor here…but can I please ask about the possibility for gaps identified in the legacy API please and whether anything is planned? I have looked (and was hopeful), but I believe these gaps apply to both the legacy and new API. Can you confirm this is the case?

  • Recurring Sales Invoice – no key/value pair for Short Description
  • Sales Invoice Item Line – unable to mark invoice line as a subtotal
  • Journals – unable to setup a recurring schedule
  • Journals – create/assign tag/folder when creating Journal

Would be great if you can give some feedback on these…as will certainly encourage me to migrate over!

For the initial launch it’s more of a focus on ensuring the new API matches the functionality of the existing API, so when the older one is retired, nothing is lost.

You’re correct that there are some gaps, but while I can’t guarantee anything at this stage, I do agree it would be useful to address these in the future.

Now now, watch this space, and once the API is out of beta, we’ll have a better idea of what’s ahead of us.
