Open banking issue

Hi,

I have been using open banking to link my Quickfile to HSBC for some time now with no issues but recently it seems I managed to un-link my bounce back loan account. I do not seem to be able to re connect it again in any way whatsoever. When I select Options, Open bank feed I am given the choice of ‘Connect a personal account’ or ‘Connect a Kinetic account’. Neither of these work as mine is a business account.

Is there a way to re connect this or am I forever going to have to manually enter the interest in there from here on?

Thanks,
Neil

QuickFile allows only one “connection” to each bank type, but one connection can feed data for multiple accounts. If you already have an HSBC feed set up then it won’t let you create another.

What you will need to do is revoke the existing HSBC connection, then set up a new one in its place and during that process select all the accounts that you will want to link - the current account and the BBL. You should then be able to associate each one with an account in QuickFile. Revoking the old link won’t affect any transactions that have already been imported, so there are no issues with doing this.

Oh ok, that makes sense. So I revoke the other three links I have then start fresh.

The link expires in six days so I may as well just let it run out then start over.

Thank you for your fast response Ian.

You revoke your (single) current connection to HSBC (which may include several accounts), then create a new connection to HSBC, selecting all the relevant accounts, then assign each account from the feed to the right account in QuickFile.

You don’t have to wait for the old feed to run out, you can revoke and reconnect at any time and it wi t affect any transactions that have already been imported.
