Overpayment by client

A client has two billing addresses but makes one payment, all payments are posted to a holding account and then allocated to each billing address. We recently received a payment for £1500 more than the outstanding balances, the client has been refunded, how do I allocate the refund in the bank account and the holding account?

You would tag the money to the clients account as a prepayment (to show where it came from).

You can then go into Sales > View Payments > Apply a search to show the unallocated items

View the details > Refund balance
