Paying Bills from within QuickFile

I have recently purchased a business which uses QuickBooks for its accounts. QB is almost, mainly because of its slowness, unusable and I will be switching away as soon as possible. Year end is the best time to do that but I am not sure I can wait that long and stay sane.

Two contenders to replace it are Xero and QuickFile. I have no experience of Xero but I do of Quickfile and I think the latter is sufficient for my purposes but I am not 100% certain.

One thing I have recently discovered is that with Xero I can pay bills from directly within Xero.

I don’t think this is possible with Quickfile.

  • Is that correct?
  • Does Quickfile have any plans to introduce this functionality?

Thank you.

Michael

Hi @3Unique

Yes, this feature is available for supplier or regular payments through an integration with Crezco.

You can initiate a pay run by going to your outstanding purchase list, selecting the invoices to pay, and then selecting “Initiate payment run” from the “More Options” menu.

There is a small fee charged by Crezco for this, but the total cost will be shown through the process.

Hi Mathew

Thank you for your reply.

Wow!! I wonder what other features I am missing.

I become more and more impressed with Quickfile the more I dig into it.

I will probably try Xero and Quickfile along side each other but I am leaning towards Quickfile as it is a service I have used for my private accounts and so I know the system.

I am just trying to figure out if there is anything Quickbooks and or Xero have that Quickfile doesn’t, if there is anything, and if there is whether I need them.

Do you have a side by side comparison of the three somewhere on your site?

Kind regards

Michael

We don’t have a comparison unfortunately, but you can find a full feature list here: Full feature list

If there’s anything in particular you’re looking for but can’t find, please don’t hesitate to ask

Thank you. Might be worth you constructing a page.

My first impression when I came across Quickfile was how can it be free and be as good as Sage, QB and Xero etc but the more I used it the more it did the job.

What does QF lack?

  • Grouping links on the left by categories
  • Classes but tags might solve that. I am yet to explore
  • Not being able to see recurring journals (this is a major issue for me). As you can for recuring purchases.
  • Template journals. Journals that don’t recur but that can be used as and when required.
  • I don’t like the bank rec but that could be because up until now I haven’t used a bank feed.
  • Email selected reports (eg Aged Debtors) on a periodic basis.

Anyway looking forward to trying it for my new business.

Thx

Michael
