Hi, we have purchased an item through amazon, we have an invoice for £46.50, but they have taken £46.70.
I have contacted them to ask why, but how would I process this if we do not get a refund?
Hello @JessicaFerguson
You would record the payment as 46.70, When tagging the payment, select the invoice and select and save.
The £46.50 invoice would be paid in full and the remaining £0.20 would be saved as a prepayment on their account.
If/When they refund, View their accounts > View All Payments > View the details of the prepayment > Refund Balance
And if they don’t refund, if they let you offset the surplus against future purchases then next time you buy from them record the purchase as the correct amount but the payment as £0.20 less, and settle the difference using log payment → apply from credit.
Or if you just want to write it off I’d create a new £0.20 purchase (at 0% vat if you’re vat registered) and log payment from credit on that to balance everything.
