Paypal automated feed / csv file upload

Hi there

After setting up the PayPal automated feed, should it first upload all previous transactions on the account, or do I have to download a csv file from PayPal and upload that file into QuickFile ?

(Our last PayPal transaction was several weeks ago. Nothing is loaded into the PayPal merchant account on loading QuickFile since I set the PayPal automated feed up and clicking on “Refresh feed” returns a message saying “No new transactions found today …”).

If I need to download a csv file of the historical transactions from PayPal and upload that file into QuickFile, which PayPal reports should it be ? There are several and all rather confusing.

Hello @Trumpers

The Paypal feed will start importing any new transactions from the point it was set up.

for historical transactions you would need to import a csv file, it is a similar process to importing a bank statement

Thanks for that prompt reply !

But I don’t know which of many different PayPal reports to select.

Incidentally, I had, of course, read the file you linked to about setting it up. But nowhere does it say that the feed will not include historical data. It says “The PayPal feed will automatically import all your PayPal transactions without you having to do a thing. All new PayPal sales will be automatically tagged …”

Hence my original question.

Hello @Trumpers

I had a quick look for you (as they keep changing the website).

This one should work

https://www.paypal.com/reports/dlog

When importing you would map the fields as below

Date = Date
Name or Item Title = Reference
Gross = Amount (both positive and negative values)
