Hi,
I have my Paypal account linked to Quickfile and it brings the transactions in automatically each night. I have been scratching my head as to why the balance in my Paypal account online and in my Quickfile account don’t match (Quickfile is showing £16.52 too much)
Having been through and compared everything, I have pinpointed the error. The account starts at the very beginning in Jan 2014 all fine and all matches but 13 transactions in and Quickfiles balance goes wrong.
At transaction 10, both Paypal Online and Quickfile shows a balance of £64.48 - Great.
Quickfile then lists 3 further purchases of £3.60, £7.80 and £5.78 and then shows a balance of £63.82. Now maybe I am missing something here but £64.48 minus £3.60 minus £7.80 minus 5.78 is £47.30
Quickfile has subtracted those 3 purchases and is showing the balance as £63.82
So Quickfile has somehow taken the correct balance of £63.82 and subtracted 3 purchases worth £17.18 and given the new balance of £63.82 which is only 66p subtracted.
Obviously the balances are a grey’d out field and automatically worked out. What is strange is that after this single glitch, the account carries on with hundreds of transactions in and out and every single one after this is all correct, right up until today so my account is essentially £16.52 out up to the current day due to this balance error a year ago
If someone at Quickfile could have a look and see if they can work out why this is, I would be most grateful. It goes wrong on the 30/1/14 under #QF00367. If you look at the balance 3 transactions before that (still on the 30/1/14 you can see it is correct and these last 3 purchases end up with this totally incorrect balance.
I have uploaded an image of the figures so it is clear to see where it has gone wrong. You can see my balance (with a calculator line by line) and quick files next to it and the point it doesn’t match
Thanks
Rich
