PayPal - Duplicated Account - follow up

Hi,

Last year I asked about an issue with two paypal account:

When I first joined QuickFile I opened a bank account to input all PayPal activity into. I also linked my Paypal account to QuickFile to deal with the transaction from that date onwards. I didn’t realise until I’d listed historical transactions up to the date the Paypal account had been linked that there were in fact two accounts, the ‘bank account’ and the ‘merchant account’, when I realised this I transfered the funds out of the ‘bank account’ into the merchant account with the intention of …

My final question wasn’t answered and I still need to know…

Should I delete the transaction already posted (in error) to the ‘PayPal Balance’ bank account and or delete the account?

I see you have a bunch of entries in the account “PayPal (Old Do Not Use)”. If you’ve already accounted for these in the other PayPal merchant account then yes they would normally deleted.

I don’t know about other circumstances affecting your account so I can’t give you a categorical answer I would always recommend you run it by your accountant first.

Thanks Glenn. Some of them also appear in the merchant account so I’m detagging those and transferring the others over and will then delete the transactions.
