Paypal feed - how?

Our Paypal feed has not imported anything for several weeks now, so I removed the feed and tried to activate it again. It asks me for a 6 digit account number and gives me 90 seconds to enter it. AFAIK Paypal doesn’t have an account number per se, I did login to Paypal and have a look round during the 90 seconds but could not find anything.

Please can someone advise what I am supposed to enter here?

Thanks,
Chris

They sounds like some sort of two-factor authentication, do you remember having set anything like that up on your PayPal account?

Hi @comgw,

I’d have to agree with @ian_roberts on this one. It sounds like it is probably some sort of authentication code rather than an account number

Nope, never set 2FA up on our Paypal account, still login with standard username & password.

Anyone actually from Quickfile read these? perhaps the code has a bug?

Thanks,
Chris

Now you mentio it, it certainly does look like it’s wanting a 2FA code (see screenshot attached) but as I said, we’ve never set this up on our PayPal account, so I’m a bit stumped!

Regards,
Chris

Yes, that image looks like it’s asking for either a 2 factor code or a Security Key.

To send a code a mobile number must have been entered on your PayPal account, or it wants a security key.

Check your PayPal Profile under: Login and Security. Then, Manage Security Keys

Also check what mobile number you have on paypal

Hi @comgw

It looks like you’re using Yodlee for this. There is a built-in QuickFile PayPal feed which you could use instead.

Just ensure your bank type is set to PayPal (Merchant) by going to More Options >> Settings, on the bank statement view.

As long as it’s set to the above Bank name, activating the feed will take you through the QuickFile feed settings instead of Yodlee.

Thanks for all the replies, but as I said, 2FA is NOT the answer because it is not setup on our PP account. I think QF just expects it to be setup and therefore it doesn’t work if you have not got it setup.

@QFMathew this is the answer I was looking for, except it doesn’t let me change the type, it is greyed out, so looks like I’m going to have to setup a new account and re-tag about 50 transactions

hi @comgw,

It shouldn’t be stopping you from changing it. I will send you a private message now to see if we can do this for you.
