I have set the option in my PayPal feed to “ignore transfers to or from bank” - this has been working well for years (literally), but in the last few months I am seeing loads (more than 50x so far) of individual transactions in my PayPal account with no description or name, just a PayPal transaction ID in between brackets e.g. like “(1AB12345C6789102X)”. I initially assumed these were payees with Cyrillic or non-Latin character names (I had a few before), but it was too many to be normal.
Upon looking up those transactions ID in my PayPal activity, I see they are all transfers to/from my bank account, e.g. “instant withdraw” or money transferred in automatically to fund an outgoing payment.
I have tried disabling and re-enabling the “ignore transfers to or from bank” option. I don’t know if this will do anything. Is anyone else having this problem?
This has been an absolute nightmare as I am having to individually look up every such transaction ID to figure out if it’s a real payment or not.
