Since joining Quickfile, all purchase data has automatically been uploaded into my VAT return until now. Last month I had to re-register with Quickfile but I must have done this incorrectly and the task failed. It’s now showing up as done correctly but the purchase data for the last quarter hasn’t automatically uploaded to the VAT return. The system is asking me to perform pretty complicated Excel tasks (‘VAT bridging return settings’) to create a spreadsheet. Can you help please?
It sounds like you’ve accidentally switched on the “bridging” mode in your VAT settings in QuickFile - if you switch that back off it should go back to how you expected it.
Check also that the cash/accrual toggle is set correctly, if that has changed too then your return will show much larger numbers than it should.
Hi Ian
Thanks for your advice. That worked but after attempting to submit my return, I had a HMRC error code 403 (The client/agent is not authorised).
Can you advise, please?

Hello @ilanjones
Check in Reports > HMRC
If there are multiple entries listed, is the tick next to one that says failed?
If there one that says good if so tick that one and then retry the return.
Thanks very much Steve - that worked.
