Query on vat filing

Hi

I have recently registered for VAT and filed and paid my first quarter. I filed it using the link to HMRC that is available via quick file. My accountant then set up the gov gateway to pay the vat which I have. However, on quick file the vat amount is still showing as outstanding. How do I change it so that’s the system know’s it has been paid.

This may help in recording the payment - VAT Liability figure - #2 by QFSteve

The vat status on your dashboard is taken from company house which can be delayed in updating, as long as in the Reports > Vat Returns > Create screen it says the period is filed and you have logged the payment as above, you are good.
