Recording tips, bonuses or goodwill gestures

Hello
I was given a tip/bonus.
How do I mark it as?
thank you

There is a category “Commissions Received (4902)” this can be used to register any tips or payments in the way of goodwill gestures.

Thank you for fast response. The only problem with doing that is that the credit shows on my client account and I seem to only to be able to apply it to an invoices. I have a 50£ credit on a client account and how can I apply it to "Commissions received "(4902) from client’s account page.

Depending on whether you import your bank statement, use the bank feeds or enter the transactions manually, the first step is to enter the transaction onto your Quick File Bank Account or Petty Cash Account, if it was a cash bonus:

Manually Entering Transaction on Bank:

Select the relevant bank account and then click ‘Input New Transaction’.

Enter the date the tips, bonuses or goodwill gestures were received, and enter a reference that will assist to identify the transactions i.e. ‘Bonus for XX/XX/XX’, enter the type as ‘Money In’ and the ‘Amount’ received.

Tagging:

Once the transaction is on the bank, whether entered manually, imported or using bank feeds, follow these steps:

Now click the ‘Tag Me!’ button to tag item and select ‘Something else not on this list’, enter ‘Miscellaneous Income’ as the 'Post to Account and ‘Bonus for XX/XX/XX’ as the ‘Description’, finally click to save.

Quick File will now process the relevant entries.
