My cash book reconciles but there are still red crosses by some items although they have been tagged. How do I get rid of them as I have no wish to be able to delete?!

Are these red crosses you refer to ?
These red crossed denote which transactions can be deleted if you need to.
The grey crosses denote that a transaction can not be deleted, this may be because it has been included in a vat return and as a result they are locked.
Some transactions may always have a red cross by them as they will never be included in a vat return such as the ones below which are vat payments
