Simple really - have my bank pre-selected from the drop-down when I go to upload a statement.
And have my most-used accounts available directly in the Banking drop-down menu.

It is possible to change the default bank account, but it does require a little bit of code and a Power User Subscription. Take a look at this topic: Default bank account for tagging
I’ll leave the topic open though for your suggestion about the most used accounts.
