Restoring backup file

HI
I frequently run backups that are emailed to me. I did this again today as I wanted to test importing sales invoices via csv. I managed to do this but did not select the mark unpaid invoices as sent. Now there is no way I found to mark as already sent. Deleting them hasn’t helped as the system is aware those invoice numbers have already been imported. How do I restore the backup AND if I do, will everything appear exactly as it it before I tested the import.
This is the content of my backup - nothing related to Sales. I had not used the Sales Ledger prior.

I wish you had a sandpit area.

Also when I deleted them - a message popped up that I could still view in the Deleted Invoice report - can’t find that either.
Thank you
Jan

The “send” button at the top of a draft invoice opens up a section with various options, one of which is “mark as sent” (or possibly “flag” rather than mark - I’m not at a computer to check).

That’s the three buttons at the bottom of the invoice list, including “archived” and “deleted”.

Thank you for those answers. The restore option?

This is why a sandpit is helpful – I hadn’t dare press the send option – as didn’t want customers getting another invoice

As far as I know there isn’t one, but someone who works for QuickFile may be able to correct me. The automatic backups are more of a “making sure your data isn’t held hostage by a single platform” thing rather than a backup in the disaster recovery sense.

As it’s possible to implement a backup it seems odd to not have a restore option.

The backup zip folder (screen grab above) did not contain Sales Ledger,. Nor did today’s after Undeleting Invoices the deleted Sales Invoices. Thanks again for that tip.

Hi @JANET1

I just wanted to jump in here and address your last question -

The back up is exactly that - it’s a back up rather than a live copy of your account

We backup all your data every 15 minutes to an offsite location. This is in the unlikely event of a system failure. The Email/Dropbox backup facility is there to give you extra peace of mind by allowing you to retain a local copy of your data.

As such the data in the backup you receive could be a few hours old.

Yes i understand that but the invoices had been in the sales ledger a few days.
