Smtp setup for NHS mail

Hi

I am trying to set up the outgoing emails through my own NHS email account but it wont let me do it.

I have been given the port and host name by my IT team but no mater what I do it keeps saying the below?

Any suggestions

Error Message Failure sending mail.

Hello @AJC_Medical

The server name “SMTP1.NHS.NET” couldn’t be located to a mail server. I’ve tested this outside of QuickFile and it’s returned no IP address so it wouldn’t connect to anything.

Did the NHS give you this address directly?

[Edit]
I’m not familiar with the details for the NHS, but have done a bit of searching. This may not be the most reliable, but it’s worth a shot. There’s a Wikipedia post for this:

This mentions that smtp1.nhs.net was in use before September 2009. After then, you should be using send.nhs.net on port 587.

thanks, have tried that and no joy, I have however found a way around it if any future people have issues.

As someone suggested make sure you delete smtp settings and set routine email to noreply@quickfile.co.uk. then for each NHS customer I have added a secondary contact with a gmail address I have, when I send the invoice to both the nhs and gmail together it goes through, if I send to only the nhs it wont. I have no idea how it works it just seems to
