Splitting receipts when part of it relates to a personal purchase

Back to this topic again, is one that is mentioned quite a bit, as it can be a pain to deal with.

so basically i just want clarification to see if this OK an quick fix to deal with personal purchases made on the same receipt as business and not to be charge to the Ltd co.

Can i transfer the whole original receipt to the DL account as a transfer then, create a purchase for the business part and charge that to the DL, so that the remainder of the amount transferred to the DL is only the personal, i know i can physically do it, but asking if its OK accounting wise ?

I don’t see any problem with this as long as the net balance on the DLA reflects the personal element of the receipt. I’m not an accountant so would however recommend you obtain a second professional opinion.
