How do I start the invoices from number 1 again, please? The reason for this is, I have stopped one company and started another one, basically just carried on with the same jobs and clients, only name of the company changed and number of directors. I didnt want to start a new quickfile account as all the addresses are already stored there so I wanted to spare myself a hassle of inputting them all over again. I must start the invoices from number 1 and I don’t know how to set it up. Is there anything I can do?

I should add, I don’t want to do it manually, I want the system to start the numbering by itself.

There isn’t a way to restart the numbering as it should be continuous for auditing purposes. Although, the system picks up on the last used entry and adds 1. So changing the format of the numbering would effectively reset it (instead of 00001, IN00001).
However, can I just clarify one point from your post?
Is it a completely new company? You mention a different name and directors, but is the company number still the same with Companies House?
Hi Mathew, its a new company with a new company number. I have been able to change all the details in the system, name, company number, address etc but the numbering carried on from the previous one. Do you think it would be better to start a new quickfile or really a must as it may not be clear later whats what?

If it’s a new company, you should really start a new account. It’s a separate legal entity and for auditing and reporting purposes everything should be kept separate (similar to when a sole trader becomes a limited company or vise-versa).
