Stripe refunds question

We deal with deposit refunds from our booking software intergrated with stripe, this actions the refund to be drawn from the current account to be paid back to customer. I am unsure how to tag them in stripe holding account.

so i understand one has to be credited to the customers account and the other would this be a transfer between accounts ie from current account to stripe account??

they appear as such in the holding account:

Stripe payout “Money In” £250
Refund for charge Booking for: “Name Book” id: WTB113F6CC “Money Out” £250

Hello @HVH2233

It would depend on how you are refunding it.

If you are physically give the money back, then you would

  • Raise a credit for the invoice
  • Refund the credit via the stripe holding account
  • Delete the original
  • Process a transfer between the stripe holding account and the current account

Hi Steve thanks for the reply

The refund is bank tranfer, actioned in reverse from the booking software using stripe, which initiates a withdrawal from the bank account.
