Stripe Transactions – Are Invoices and Tags Created Automatically Like with PayPal?

Hi everyone,

I’ve noticed that when I sell something through my website and receive payment via Stripe, both the incoming payment and the associated fee appear in QuickFile under my Stripe account. However, unlike with PayPal, it doesn’t seem like QuickFile automatically creates and tags a corresponding invoice for each sale.

That said, I did come across one Stripe transaction that was already tagged, and I can’t remember doing it myself. This makes me wonder — does QuickFile handle Stripe sales and fee tagging automatically at some point, perhaps at the end of the month or during a routine sync?

I just want to understand what to expect so I can stay on top of things and avoid duplicating any entries.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best,
Daniele

Hello @LearnItCambridge

It does not automatically tag them.

You couls set up and Automated bank tagging rule for this.

Or you could Bulk tag them,

Dear @QFSteve, thank you for your answer and apologies if I keep bothering you, but I need to get this right. Let’s say I’m selling a course on my website, and 10 people sign up. Let’s say 9 pay with Stripe and 1 with PayPal. The 9 paying with Stripe are all different customers and they are not on the list of my QuickFile clients. What is the quickest way to tag those transactions (and the related fees)? Would it still be through Autmated bank taggin rules or Bulk Tag?

I read somewhere that I could set up Stripe as a client as well as a supplier and add up all of the money that came in through Stripe within a single invoice within a certain period (for example at the end of the month), avoiding to have to create different clients and individual invoices.

P.S. One day I’d like to create a subscription programme on my website as well and, should it go well, I can’t imagine having to create single invoices and adding every single subscriber as a client in QuickFile.
